In the beautiful countryside of Cumbria lies Cartmel Village, a place characterised by its traditional architecture of lime washed stone houses. Just like the Norman Priory that centres Cartmel shares the history in its walls, the pieces in The Cartmel Collection too pay homage to their history in their finish and stature. When curating this collection of charming reclaimed furniture, we aimed for authentic pieces that would undeniably lend to a country cottage in Cartmel Village.
Visiting Cartmel Village, Cumbria
Explore the history of Cartmel Village and visit the Norman Priory, a truly beautiful building. If you have the pleasure of being there during the week, there are tours available on Wednesday afternoons to learn more about the architecture.
Try the famous Cartmel Sticky Toffee Pudding. I know it seems suspicious that this is our second collection named after a place famous for pudding, but we promise it’s coincidence. But you simply cannot visit Cartmel Village without trying a Cartmel Sticky Toffee Pudding. Head to the Cartmel Village Shop for the original, delicious, gooey treat.

Why not pull on your walking boots and head for a hike around Cartmel Fell? There are around 20 different hikes to choose from, each as beautiful as the next.
Lastly, attend the Cartmel Races. This racecourse holds 9 race days each year through the Summer. For a day of horseracing, fairs and food trucks it’s a wonderful day out with a good group of friends.
