The Best Mojito Drink Dispenser Recipe

Posted by Maisie Yerkess on

Year on year we see our trusty Kilner drink dispensers fly off the shelves. They’re a summer staple for us Brits. Whether it’s a fancy cocktail, iced tea or even simple cucumber water, the drink dispenser is your go-to chalice for serving tasty drinks to a crowd.

It’s always a little tricky converting your favourite cocktail into a 5 or 8 litre dispenser recipe. We’re not all mixologists, and cocktails may not be your forte. For some of us, it’s difficult to master a normal cocktail recipe, let alone a 5 litre drink dispenser recipe - that’s a lot of cocktail! So, with that in mind, we’ve taken the trouble out of it all for you. Simply pop these measurements into your dispenser and enjoy! If you don’t yet have a Kilner Drink Dispenser, head this way.

Now, you’re hosting a party, you have what feels like a hundred things to do before your guests arrive. You need an easy fix. A classic mojito is quick, easy, and doesn't require too many ingredients. Most importantly, it’s a crowd pleaser, which is key when you’re going to have 5 to 8 litres of it. This mojito dispenser recipe is the perfect zesty, refreshing summer treat. We’ve given the measurements for the 5L Dispenser and the 8L Dispenser below. Remember that cocktails should always be made to taste, so add extra sugar, lime or rum as you see fit. It’s also important to remember that mojitos should be full of crushed ice, so these dispenser recipes make space for that.

Ingredients

5L Mojito Dispenser Recipe Measurements

  • 12 Limes
  • 275g Granulated Sugar
  • 20 Mint Sprigs
  • Crushed Ice
  • 1L White Rum
  • 3L Sparkling Water

8L Mojito Dispenser Recipe Measurements

  • 18 Limes
  • 352g Granulated Sugar
  • 25 Mint Sprigs
  • Crushed Ice
  • 1.75L White Rum
  • 4L Sparkling Water

Method

  1. Chop each lime into 6 pieces and pop them into your dispenser. Add the sugar and squish the lime wedges with a wooden spoon, do this until the majority of the juices have been released. Mix together the limes and the sugar until the sugar dissolves into the lime juice, making a paste.
  2. Pick the leaves off the mint and clap them between your hands to release the aroma, and add them into the dispenser
  3. Pour in the White Rum and Sparkling Water. Stir the mixture together then gently add the crushed ice until the dispenser is full. Give your mojito mixture another thorough mix.
  4. Place your glass under the tap of the dispenser, ensuring that the dispenser lid is open to allow the mixture to flow. Fill your glass with tasty home-made mojito, pop in a little more crushed ice and some lime slices & voila!

Why not Turn This Drink Dispenser Recipe Into a Mojito bar?

As wonderful as this mojito drink dispenser recipe is by itself, if you want to spruce it up for a party, add some ramekins of fruit, and toppings. Put out glasses, extra ice, and a muddler to crush the fruit in the bottom of the glass into a puree. This dispenser setup looks fantastic, allows people to add different flavours as they like, and means you can leave it running throughout the party without much work! A host’s dream.
